How long a wait on NHS for haemorrhoid (piles) treatment?

These awful piles have been plaguing me for months now and creams/suppositories/lifestyle & diet changes have not shifted them. So it's looking like surgery 😬😬

Does anyone here have experience getting them treated on NHS? Specifically, how long was was the wait time?? I want them gone ASAP however private surgery will cost circa £3,000. 😔

Any advice also on surgeries would be great... I've heard the new laser treatment is considered better than traditional banding etc.

At my local trust you’re looking at a good 6-9 months for consultation then probably about the same for treatment. Sadly, no matter how large your piles are, they aren’t deemed clinically urgent so nothing will happen quickly
