What to wear for ecg treadmill stress test?

I have an ecg stress test tomorrow because I have been having heart palpitations. Now I'm lying in bed freaking out wondering what I'm supposed to wear? When I've had regular ecgs I've had to be topless, surely I don't have to strut my stuff topless on a treadmill? They just said comfortable shoes in the appointment letter, nothing about what to wear on top. I'm having an echo cardiogram before that and was too busy thinking about how I'm going to have to be topless while someone scans my chest to even think about the stress test.

And yes I know it's all medical but I had a bad experience with a Dr diving in to do a breast check when I was in my early 20s which I'm not convinced was above board and left me feeling very uncomfortable so I have thing about getting topless in front of Drs, it makes me feel really icky.

You keep your bra on. I've normally had a nurse apply the pads, some do go quite far down as far as I remember. You can always request a chaperone if you don't feel comfortable.

Bra is left on with a loose surgical gown on top.
Wear comfortable trousers or fitted joggers.

I’d wear a sports bra if you have one. They tend to be more robust and give better coverage.

I had to take my bra off for ECG, the wire can interfere with the conduction. So I'd wear a sports bra

Take a scarf and wear a shirt not a t-shirt.

You won’t be naked on top. I had a bra on, covered by a hospital gown.

It is usually carried out by a physiologist technician although a doctor may be around. I am having both carried out next week.

I had to do my stress test on the treadmill with a gown on backward so that the opening was to the front. I obviously could wear pants but it was only the gown ontop

I had this test and unfortunately I had to remove my bra and was given a loose gown to wear... running on a treadmill flapping about infront of a male Dr... highly unpleasant!!

Hope you get on ok. Not sure what age you are but I started getting palpitations in my 40’s, it can be a peri menopause symptom. It’s all stopped since I’ve been on hrt.

Well my worrying was for nothing. I had to lift up my top while he stuck the pads to me but other than that I was fully clothed for the duration.
