Severe earache- infection

So I first became unwell nearly 2 weeks ago, started with a cough and fever, then a week ago I woke up in the night with excruciating earache- called 111, got an out of hours appointment, given antibiotics (amoxicillan)

Come last Tuesday I was so full of cold, my head was so pressured i was crying, I was coughing loads and felt so unwell. Rang GP who changed antibiotics said ear still infected and likely sinus infection too.

By Friday I was feeling a bit better, the pressure had got better and my ear was manageable so thought finally something is working.

Yesterday morning woke with excruciating ear ache again and pain all in the left side of my head and face, phoned 111 who prescribed me stronger codeine.

Today no pain meds are touching the pain, I've tried hot water bottle too. My left side of my head is throbbing so much, so painful, I can't chew because it hurts so much 😩 I'm full of cold again too!

Still taking antibiotics but clearly they are not helping.

Anyone had anything similar?

Have you tried a decongestant as well? Pharmacist recommended one when I had head cold/earache/vertigo recently and it helped.

Also are you sure it's definitely your ear that's the problem? Could it be a dental infection/abscess/wisdom tooth?

Sounds really grim though Flowers

I've seen 2 doctors in the last week who have both said the ear is infected, I have looked myself too with one of those ear cameras and it looks very red and yellow behind the ear drum
