Feel like crap - perimenopause caused this or something else?

I’ve not felt great for a long time.

I have suffered 26 years with gastro (upper and lower) issues. Endless gastro tests and a constant diagnosis of IBS. I have also tested positive for SIBO (small intestinal bacteria overgrowth). I truly have the most unpredictable digestive system ever. Have diarrhoea/constipation, acid indigestion, nausea, burning, gurgling etc - my guts never shut up (I do everything to help my gut issues, there is literally nothing I haven’t tried from avoiding certain foods/drinks, adding in beneficial foods, taking certain medications, relaxation therapies etc),

Following decades of gynae issues I have also just been diagnosed with endometriosis via a pelvic mri and am waiting to see a specialist (40+ week wait).

However, I also have many other issues which have all been exacerbated or brought on by perimenopause (I assume peri since many of these issues have occurred since I turned 45 - I am soon to turn 51).

I keep waking up with this red rash over my face (similar to the pic I’ve attached).
I also suffer from lots of achy muscles and joints, have had years of thinning hair, I have also suffered from a sore mouth for years too, was told it was just geographical tongue. I have had years of anaemia and needed an infusion 2 years ago when my ferritin dropped to 3 (gp happily let me carry on for years with ferritin this low) - I ended up having a uterine ablation to reduce my heavy periods (now have post ablation symptoms drive but that’s another story/battle!). I have terrible tinnitus also.

I am also constantly exhausted, depressed and very anxious (because of the above, I feel shit most days).

I get absolutely nowhere with my GP, they just want me on antidepressants and PPIs for my gut issues which make me worse.

I feel all of my issues are connected somehow and am desperate to feel well again and getting nowhere with doctors.

What on earth can I do to feel better?

I’d look into thyroid levels/ autoimmune issues. The UK reference ranges for thyroid are different to the rest of the world. Ask Gp if this has been tested and request ranges, if not you want TSH, T4 T3 and antibodies, plus an autoimmune screening

Notinthemood12 I had my thyroid checked and as they all came back within NHS ranges, so they are saying they are absolutely fine and no further action required!
I don’t know if thyroid issues run in families but my grandad had thyroid problems and my sister has an under active thyroid and also parathyroid disease.
