Rib pain

I’ve had a bad pain in my ribs for over 2 months now.
Tried all the usual: ibuprofen, osteopath, rest, gp check. Nothing is making any difference and I’m so fed up now.
I usually swim and do weights several times a week but haven’t been able to do anything for 9’weeks now and am putting on the pounds!

No real diagnosis just ‘rib pain’. It came on suddenly and sharply and it’s sore to breathe deeply and touch the ribs.
Any ideas?!

I had this years ago. Initially thought it was the weight of my husband's arm over me but he stopped and the pain stayed. Had x rays but nothing to be seen.
It went as suddenly as it started months later.
I would still see your doctor though

Costochondritis? I'd see a GP bearing in mind how long you've had it. I hope you get it sorted out.

Thanks both, saw the GP on week 5 who suggested adding codeine and paracetamol to the ibuprofen (which made no difference) and rest. She didn’t give a diagnosis or suggest further tests.
Hoping it goes as suddenly as it came it’s just very strange and dragging on and on. Osteo manipulated my back but it didn’t help my ribs.
