Tooth abcess

Got an abcess above a tooth that's had a root canal filling. Got antibiotics and booked in for root canal to be redone next week.
Been taking amoxicillin for 2 days now (double dosed the first day as advised) but the pain is getting worse and painkillers aren't helping anymore. Am in agony and don't see me getting much sleep tonight. Called the dentist this afternoon and they said to give it another day. Am worrying about the pain, about sepsis etc. Tried the saltwater tip and that worked yesterday but not tonight.
Any advice? Should I call 111?

How are things today? @Sandiegodreaming I hope the antibiotics are kicking in and things are improving.

Dentist has given me different antibiotics so will have to wait for them to kick in now. Still in agony unfortunately. Thanks for asking.

Hopefully the new ones will take effect soon. Toothache is awful.

First time I've had it and yes it's horrendous!
