Positive FIT test

Hi all,

I posted a few weeks back about my bowel issues. I pushed for a FIT test which my doctor arranged. And the results came back with a positive rating of 16.

I am told anything over 10 is positive.

I have a colonoscopy in the first week of March and quite scared about it. Does it hurt? I will be having it under sedation.

Many thanks.

Nothing to worry about - I had it without sedation and I didn't find either the prep or the colonoscopy very difficult. If you go in with a positive mindset it will be easier.

It doesn’t hurt, but can be uncomfortable. I was sedated but it didn’t do much - not like when I had an endoscopy and I was out for the count!

Had two colonoscopy. They're ok.

Personally I'd take the sedation - I did.

The prep - use a straw, and keep it cold. It's not a great tasting drink, but most survive. Prepare the bathroom - my feet were freezing and I really wanted my slippers. People talk of the soothing properties of vaseline 😬 I think the second round was worse because you've a recent memory of what it's like but if the first round went well there's no way you're not doing round 2 well either because you don't want to waste the effort that you've put in!

@Healthworrier how did you get on with the colonoscopy? Hope everything was clear.
