Severe constipation - help and hand hold

Sorry in advance for too much information. Not a poo troll - long time poster (penis beaker) etc. I have moderate constipation on and off but this is next level - came on an hour ago and I’m really frightened. It’s completely stuck. I’ve got the bits out from my rectum but the rest is above that. In so much pain. Now sat in the bath (supposed to be at work 😢). Please tell me a. That this is solvable, b. How you sorted it?

I’ve had tonnes of water, two satchets of movicol (so far) and sent DH to the pharmacy for an enema or whatever they recommend (never used anything before). Any help so appreciated.

Prunes, prunes and more prunes. And coffee.

Suppositories might help, good luck.

Two things:

  • one is the immediate problem and suppositories are the answer. Also stop trying on the loo and go and drink a hot drink or eat something and the gut gets the message to move. The more you strain, the more uncomfortable it will be. Wait to try till you have got suppositories.
  • next the prevention in the long term. Things like movicol are great too for an immediate problem, but are also good longer term as a preventive measure if you are inclined to get constipated. Just remember to drink lots as they contain lots of salt.
Good luck with the rock of Gibralter!!

This. Stick them up your arse and try to keep them in for as long as possible. Good luck 👍

attack both ends

  • top end 2 more sachets minute Bicol then further 2 an hr later and 2 more another hr later
  • prune juice
  • glycerine suppository
  • legs up wall yoga pose
  • go and see GP for further investigation and plan

I have found the most effective, weapons-grade laxative to be Ducolax' liquid 'Pico Lax'. But treat it with respect... do NOT take more than the recommended dose, and clear your schedule... you will need to be near a toilet in your running shoes, and if there is a zombie apocalypse, they will just have to wait until you are done...

My sympathies, there's nothing like the general 'poisoned' feel of bad constipation... Hoping you find fast relief. 🙏

I've recently discovered milled flaxseed, I cook a
a tablespoon in my porridge, it seems to help.

I'm praying for you. I hope it's out. Nothing worse.
