Why am I losing my memory?

Hi all.

This is becoming increasingly concerning. I'm 30 and I find it so hard to remember a lot of things. This was never an issue. If anything, I had a very good memory and could remember every little detail of situations, phone numbers etc. As of November, I forget names of brands, work-related matters and other general life things. I can't remember what I read as well or how to spell in some instances.

I've been dealing with a lot of stress lately and have a lot on my plate too. I wondered if this could be a contributing factor?

Stress can absolutely be a factor, but so can various vitamin deficiencies such as B12 deficiency. I’d go to your GP and see what they say.

Stress can absolutely effect memory. Go to your GP with the memory loss and any other symptoms. They may suggest a blood test but tackling the stress is important.

Edited as hit post too soon.

I’m in the same boat, but older (early 40s). I assumed hormonal.

My memory used to be really good and photographic for dates/phone numbers.

Now, even if I try and keep track of something I need to remember or do in my head it disappears. I’ve tried consciously tracking to see if I can sense when it leaves my mind but that’s not possible. it’s getting to the point where I’m leaving things on the hob and forgetting about them, forgetting things at work, forgetting to make payments. Forgetting important conversations… so, following with interest
