All week I have been suffering with pain in my chest (upper) upper ribs, and upper back (right hand side at the top) , it’s literally all the time pretty much but worse when I eat.. when I press down in between my ribs it hurts and is quite tender .. I have no idea what it is does anybody know? I’ve been googling which is the wrong thing to do as it says things like gallstones, pancreatitis etc . Paracetamol doesn’t even take the pain away 😩😩😩

It's a reason to seek medical help and not ask the internet. I advise 111

Yeah I was going to anyway but I don’t want to waste their time, I feel like it isn’t sufficient enough reason to call, given the nhs are overloaded at the moment 😩

Go to a&e.
Hope you are okay OP.

Seriously, any chest pain and 111 will advise a&E quick.

thaegumathteth · 25/02/2024 18:38

Maybe Costochorditis but might be something more serious so get advice

Itsachange · 25/02/2024 19:27

That's one for A&E. Likely gallstones or pancreatitis but you don't mess around with chest pain (and anyway if you are in that much pain you need a doctor to give you the strong drugs).

It’s not chest pain related to my heart it feels more muscular if you know what i mean. I’m thinking it could be constipation but would constipation pain be up high 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just thought I’d update for anyone who is going through similar.. went to my GP she sent me straight down a&e querying a burst stomach ulcer. After bloods and examination it got confirmed I do have one caused by gastritis and h ployri? I’ve been given a months worth of tablets and I have to go back for more bloods if it doesn’t get better! Thank you all for answering 😊
