Hi all, after some advice..

went to a and e today with all is what I can describe as someone putting a golf ball under my right rib .. excruciating pain when being examined around that area.. they have sent me home but to come back in the morning for a scan but not to eat anything night before ect.. does this mean I might have to have an operation? All bloods were fine but found something in my urine to do with gallstones or liver can’t remember the name anyone else had experienced this??

They probably want to do a HIDA scan on your gallbladder and you have to fast before it's done.

What’s a HIDA scan?

Bilirubin?

Hopefully you will have surgery if needed but its up to a 2 year wait if you are not in crisis.

Ahh is it, I thought with me having to fast that I might get it earlier, I was with the surgical team today so that’s why I was thinking that x

When I had gallstones my wee went dark brown. This was the high Bilirubin. It is excruciating and the only cure is surgery so I hope they take it out for you.

Thank you, my urine was more like a dark orange. It’s not so much excruciating it’s more of a really uncomfortable feeling but when she touched the area I nearly jumped off the bed it was so tender x

Could be! Gallstone disease is progressive and the only cure is the surgery - don't leave it until it starts to affect your day to day!
