Ongoing nausea after norovirus

Hi
I had what I think was norovirus earlier in the week - woke up suddenly at 3am on Wednesday morning and was very sick with both diarrhea, vomiting, then a temperature, headache, body ache, sweats, chills....it was absolutely bloody horrendous. Luckily sickness stopped within 24 hrs, but 4 days since it started I'm really struggling still with nausea. My appetite is very low, and still have not fancied anything beyond plain food and I feel nauseas for ages after I eat.

Is this normal? When will it go away? What a horrible horrible virus 😞

I remember it taking a long time relative to how long I was actually unwell until I could confidently eat without worrying I was going to be ill after I had a nasty stomach bug. Take it slowly and eat fairly bland food for now. Try to make sure you're drinking enough to stay hydrated. It takes a bit of time to recover fully. Try flat coke or dehydration sachets for your stomach as they'll help.

It took me a good couple of weeks to return to vague normality after proper noro a few years ago. Just take it easy, keep up your fluids and just eat what you fancy.

Try and avoid dairy for a little while too if possible.

Thanks both I appreciate the replies- it definitely feels like like this is lingering! I will do that, not been eating much at all and I'm full very quickly- it's definitely knocked me for six!
