Low Vitamin d

I recently had a routine blood test and the only abnormality is low vitamin d.
The doctor has prescribed 20,000 vitamin d tablets to be taken twice a week for 7 weeks then a repeat blood test 4 weeks after the end of the course.
My query is whether I can also take a normal one a day vitamin supplement which has 1000 vitamin d in or would I be overdosing myself?
The blood test results and instructions were texted to me so I didn’t have the opportunity to ask questions and would prefer not to take up another appointment.

Just take what’s prescribed as instructed, you can take your other ones to keep topped up once you have had your blood test.

You should make sure you are getting plenty of calcium as well. And when the sun comes out (which it will do eventually) make sure you spend some time in the sun as it’s a good way of getting vit D
