Quinsy recovery

So I have got Quinsy at the minute. Finished 2 days of oral antibiotics. No other treatment.

Just wondering how recovery was for others who have it?

Did any one else only get antibiotics? GP didn't think it needed aspirated which is good but feel it's also hanging over my head as most cases do need aspirated.

Pain has pretty much gone but was never too bad in the 1st place (GP was surprised). I can open my mouth a bit more than I could before but still not as much as before. I just feel totally washed out. Really bad taste in mouth, breath stinking. Appetite coming back but still think my throat is too swollen so sticking to soup / porridge etc.

And were antibiotics enough? Just dreading getting to end of 10 days and it coming back again!

All I can say is my DD had a course of iv antibiotics, came home with a weeks worth of metronidazole and lots of pain killers

DH, Years ago had a course of antibiotics, diclofenic and something else I think

Maybe treatment has changed tho?
Hope you feel better soon
