Clenching/TMJ

I've had tmj from clenching for about two years. At first I got Botox in the masseter muscles which completely eliminated all pain. After a year I went back and got it again but this time it only lasted 6 months. I got it two weeks ago but this time it hasn't worked. The doctor won't give me a top up as she has said the masseter muscles aren't enlarged so it would risk damaging the muscles in the face. I know I'm clenching but can't stop. I have a real tight painful jaw as well as neck pain and pain around the ears. Has anybody managed to treat this successfully without Botox?

Yes, I started using a really flat pillow.

Did this help with clenching?

Yes it really did. The angle meant my jaw somehow relaxed than when I had a thicker pillow which caused my chin to be more tilted towards my chest as I slept.
