Parasthesia resolved <24 hrs post B12 shot? Also big veins

I have been diagnosed with pernicious anaemia without anti-IF antibodies. It has likely been very low for very many years and was only treated from summer last year with loading shots then 8 weekly shots after that. I had supplemented myself prior to diagnosis but that had had no effect.

For some reason I suddenly developed bad parasthesia in my hands and my feet in January (or had it started before and I just hadn't noticed?). It was constant, not coming and going like when you have a dead leg.

Anyway I had my latest B12 shot yesterday and it seems a lot better already today. That doesn't seem right does it? Surely it's too quick? Everything else B12 related took weeks or months to resolve.

My first question is: is the time since the shot (24hrs) too little for the improvement to be related to the shot?

My second question that is I get very, very swollen veins the evening after a shot. Is that anything to worry about? They are absolutely massive, all sticking out like a very old person. It's horrible to look at tbh, but obviously I'm just worried about having a blood clot or a stroke etc.

Thanks for any thoughts.

It starts to work straight away so if it’s only a recent symptom then it’s likely just getting a dose is enough to have an effect.

Hydroxocobalamin starts to work straight away. However, it may take a few days or weeks before your vitamin B12 levels and symptoms (such as extreme tiredness or lack of energy) start to improve.

Hmm I don't have the vein thing at all...def ask nurse before next jab, if not sooner 😕

This is the vein thing, it's not just the hands it's forehead, feet and other places. This happens reliably the evening of every shot. I can feel all the veins popping 😕 my camera isn't great, it looks worse in real life but it's hard to capture it.

Self-bump to see if any has any input on the swollen veins issue.

OP my veins are always like that when I get warm. So if yours have been messed with they are probably slightly inflamed.
