DD had woke up with a gummy eye yesterday and it was a bit gunky during the day but otherwise fine. Today when she woke up the other eye was gummy too. We cleaned them up and they look fine now - not red or anything.

We are due to go swimming this morning and not sure what to do. She had conjunctivits before and her eyes were red and gunky the whole time whereas now she looks fine so not sure whether this is somethign else.

No, DD2 has this just now cause she has a cold. Dab it with warm salty water on cotton wool

Thanks - what do you think about going swimming? Good idea or not.

You can get viral conjunctivitis that will go away without treatment, it causes the weeping but is not itchy and does not cause red eyes. It can develop after a cold or another illness. Conjunctivitis feels so itchy and it's almost as if there is grit in the eye. Viral conjunctivitis is not the same. Take her to the GP though if you are concerned.
