Can I have a tiny moment to feel chuffed, please?

I injured my foot 2 years ago and had about a 12 month period where I was extremely immobile. During which time, (due to lack of exercise and a lot of boredom eating) my cholesterol went up to 6.7 and GP was considering putting me on meds to control it. Had surgery in Nov 22 and then a recovery period and have slowly been building up the exercise and trying to live better since. Gym 3 times a week, lots of dog walks, watching my fat intake etc etc. Got my latest test results today and cholesterol is now 4.1 (ie in normal range.)

I'm feeling so chuffed with myself. I know it seems a little thing. But have worked really hard at getting back on form and so relieved to have avoided medication. 😁 Can I get a high five from some lovely Mumsnetters?

amazing job!

Potentially life defining? If you can come back from being a immobile and eating that puts your cholesterol up, to now going to the gym and regular dog walks and getting your cholesterol, right down, then you can do absolutely anything! It is not your fate, it is what you choose to do. Really bloody good job

Well done, delighted for you. Why are we always so reluctant to praise ourselves 🤔

Did something similar for myself 2 years ago. Reversed my blood from very close to prediabetes to normal, lost 3 stone and started running. Thank you, you've reminded me of what I did do

That’s brilliant. I’m working on getting my triglycerides down, and you have just made me feel much more motivated!

Fabulous! You’re an inspiration that we can take control of things, no matter how hard it might feel.

my weight has spiralled out of control and my fitness is at rock bottom. I’ve joined a gym to start to turn things around and your post is perfect for reminding me that we can and should look after ourselves. Thank you
