swelling in both eyes

Does anyone have any experience of this being picked up on by optometrist, and being warned off eye drops/beconase/steroid creams? My sister has been told the slight swelling is stable and she'll need to be seen in the next 3 months, but is wondering why the warning about eye drops and beconase,both of which she uses. Many thanks!

Beconase can cause chorioretinopathy, especially when it's used for longer term - it shouldn't be used for over 3 months usually.

It depends what the eye drops are as to their side effects. Which ones is she using?

Thankyou for your reply- she takes sodium cromoglicate drops in hayfever season. Just as an aside, I have used beconase twice daily for over 10 years, having taken rynacrom before that, both on doctors' advice. We had no idea there were these associated risks
