Eating feels… unnatural

Hey so the last few days eating has felt unnatural. Odd. Food feels weird in my mouth & it’s hard to swallow. No lump in my throat. It’s like my body is physically saying no to food. I can drink with no issues, it’s just food. Any advice?

TIA x

I had this when I was peri menopausal, but if your young then it may be worth getting checked out by your GP
My late mum had a hiatus hernia and she often felt that food was ' stuck ' and tasted strange.,
They wouldn't be able to check without tests or a camera.
I hope you can sort it out op, it doesn't sound very pleasant.

I’m 41, so it’s a possibility? My last baby was born in 2022 and I’m still breastfeeding her at 17 months, I don’t know if that would ‘pause’ symptoms!

it’s like when you’re hungover and you know when you try & eat and your body’s like ‘nope’ it’s a bit like that 🤣 it’s hard to explain!

Have you been poorly lately? I've experienced this before, after I had both my kids & if I've been unwell with a virus.
