So for a few years I’ve had on off abdominal pain with wind and nausea. I saw a gastro consultant and had normal bloods, negative h.pylori and negative faecal calprotectin. I had an ultrasound which only found an incidental liver cyst which after CT with contrast was shown to be an innocent haemangioma.
The pain settled down but this last two weeks is back. I’ve been constipated despite no change in diet or medication, I go every couple of days but it’s hard and in bits. I’ve got lower down abdo pain, as in between belly button and pelvis. I’ve had a few normal bowel movements but the pain has remained. I feel nauseous with it, bloated and have a gurgly tummy. I’m eating extra fiber and eating more fruit and drinking more water but no change.
My gastro consultant has recommended a gastroscopy but this is for the upper part of stomach which to me doesn’t seem to be where the issue is as I don’t have acid or reflux or swallowing issues. I am going to cancel this booked for next week (private) but wonder what this could be and if anyone has had the same?!
I'm happy to have the gastroscopy but wonder if I need a colonoscopy?! I think as I mentioned slight relief on eating (despite not being as hungry as usual) he assumed maybe ulcer related…
Any thoughts welcome!
