Torn/badly strained adductor (inner thigh) muscle?

I woke up last week with pain and tenderness in my inner thigh muscle going all the way down the inner thigh. When I walk on it it feels like it's being pulled or torn. I don't remember injuring it but I do do yoga and cycling so maybe I did it without realising?

Google suggests it's a strained adductor. It's been 8 days now and it's no better. If anything worse! Even walking around my flat is painful. Doctor's appointment on Tuesday but feeling miserable particularly as no improvement. I've iced it and trying not to walk, but not helping.

It seem strange to have such a severe injury without knowing how it happened? Anyone else had this?

About 40 years ago I pulled an adductor muscle... three weeks before my first marathon. The prescription then - and probably now - is R.I.C.E. Rest, ice, compression, elevation.

I spent a week with my feet up, and an ice pack taped to my thigh with an elastic bandage. Every hour or so I hobbled to the fridge to change ice pack.

After a week, I could walk normally, though carefully.
