Fibromyalgia symptoms

I've recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia after nearly two years of vague symptoms, horrendous symptoms. I can't remember the last time I felt well. I do also have an anxiety disorder and OCD. I feel like for all this time my symptoms have been fobbed off as anxiety. What I want to know is anyone with fibromyalgia get random bouts of lightheadedness and dizziness? I find its often worse with h stress but it's debilitating. I just wonder if it's related to it.

Yes, it could be related to it but I hate how everything tends to get attributed to conditions like FM. Have you looked up POTS?

Lightheadedness and dizziness are symptoms of anxiety.

Yes I looked it up and I mentioned it several ti s to my GP but they said I don't have that. I had a 24 hr heart tape as I also get noticable heart beats and faster heart rates, Digestive issues, exhaustion etc but they said I only have ectopic beats and my heart tape was normal other than that.. I've had endless bloods for everything and they've said it's fibro. I was diagnosed with BPPV as I once went to A & E because lightheadedness was so bad, they did a sitting and standing test and said it wasn't POTS.

Lightheadedness and dizziness are symptoms of anxiety.

I accept that.. its just that even when I am not being anxious I seem to get the lightheadedness. It's overwhelming and feels like ill pass out. At first it was only I as like a couple times a month, now it's a few times a week. The lightheadedness then triggers my health anxiety and alas I go into a spiral.

Not the same thing but I have got ME/CFS and used to get dizziness/lightheadedness with it, haven't for ages fortunately. But things that I found that helped are stugeron 15 travel sickness tablets (note they can make you drowsy so don't drive on them, not that you would be driving with dizziness anyway, but i found that one tablet before bed would generally clear up a bout of dizziness for me). And sea bands travel sickness wrist bands help too.
Worth discussing your symptoms with your GP, good luck, hope you find some improvement soon

Sorry cross posted with your other comments, I see you have already spoken to your GP :-(

I've been to my GP today who basically said it's the fibro and nothing they can do but start me on duloxetine because apparently there is evidence it will help. It just feels so bloody terrible.

It's hard to know what to do for the best isn't it. I suppose give the duloxetine a try and see what happens. You can't carry on like this, it sounds horrible for you :-(

Thank you. My GP seems to be junk there's a connection with the birth of my son and an emergency section, failed epidural etc etc. it all started after he was born. He's nearly two now. I feel horrendous most days and most days I can barely stand, in so much pain, I have to hold onto furniture, I'm clumsy, amongst endless other things. I shouldn't be like this. I'm only 31!

I think fibromyalgia is a lazy diagnosis when they can't find a cause for symptoms. I was told by a rheumatologist that my pain was fibromyalgia. I always believed it was related to my Rheumatoid arthritis. A few years later another rheumatologist confirmed that.
Anxiety and OCD can cause a myriad of nasty physical symptoms. Have you found any medication that helps with your OCD/ anxiety?

Everyone gets different things that affect them with fibro. So it may be what affects you.

I have a bit of a fear of medications but I've tried several over the years.. I struggle to even take OTC painkillers most times. This is why I'm asking. I just feel like they aren't willing to dig deeper and also they don't believe me about how severe my symptoms are so have fobbed me off with this instead.

I'm a fibromyalgia sufferer and my symptoms are debilitating. I've suffered dizziness on and off over the years, most notably when in a very stressful job. Only thing that worked was anti sickness meds. It put me in bed for days at a time. You have my sympathy op
