What is this virus from the depths of the Earth?!

Started with a cough Thursday night, by Friday I was coughing none stop - dry but annoying. Friday evening I felt like I'd been hit by a bus! Every muscle was aching, especially my legs. Spent the weekend feeling lousy - no cold, just exhausted, still the cough, restless legs, dizzy if I did anything too quickly. Last night started with sneezing, the cough is now more 'wet' but not bringing anything up, still no cold, and dizzy at times and could really do with a nap!

Someone at work had the same the other week and is still bad.

Anyone else had this?! I thought I'd escaped the seasonal germs, clearly not

Do you have flu? I am wondering if I have flu, whole body is aching and has been for days. That is a symptom of flu

aitchteeaitch · 12/02/2024 14:27

Sounds like flu to me, with a lovely chest infection on top.

Thank you all for replying and sorry others are also suffering! I can taste but not really smell, no cold still but a stuffy nose on and off. The cough is something else! I'm certain a fortnight in the Maldives would cure it mind, but sadly I'll never know

My husband was the same over Christmas, out of interest he did a Covid test - the test line blazed red as soon as the liquid hit it.
