One leg tingling

I'm going through multiple health issues at the moment, for the last 3 weeks I've had on and off tingling and weak feeling in my right leg. I thought sciatica but there was no pain like that and now there is none at all, it's just a prickly feeling that I feel at the top of my thigh sometimes bottom and it goes down my leg, mainly the thigh/calf area. I suffer with intense anxiety, could it be that? Google is telling me I am at deaths door and it's scaring me a bit. I am suffering with another health issue so don't want to visit GP just yet and did have a full blood count in a&e the other day that was normal. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this having severe anxiety and it been that?

Mine was due to B12 being borderline low. Resolved once my levels increased.

OP

I'm sure its nothing major but oly goig to the GP and telling him about it will help you
out your mind at rest.

Could be B12 low, could be nothing but it could be something else that is easily resolved.

Wouldn't that fall under a full blood count?

Thanks. I know I should go, but I'm trying to advocate for my constant sickness and vomiting at the moment, struggling with getting a referral though a&e did ask them to refer, I doubt they will. But this leg is worrying me, it is on and off sometimes I don't even notice but about 8 hours of the day it affects me

I’m not sure what age you are but I also started having similar weird nerve issues. I had it in my legs to start, then in my arms, hands, face. Cue lots of tests. The upshot is, I think mine was related to perimenopause symptoms. Heavy periods led to really low iron levels, platelet count and also vitamin D. I started hrt and got my periods under control and since then the episodes are much less. My leg started last week actually and I took iron for a few days and it has gone again.

Have yo tried a private doctor, you pay around 50/60 quid and often they will refer, but check first. Good luck

I'm 28, I do suffer with vit D deficiency so could that be the culprit?

I want to add, I guess there's a bit of pain if I stretch my leg over my other, the back is very tense and hard, so maybe...nerve issue? Idk 😭

Sounds like the start of sciatica. Increased pressure or irritation of the nerve can often cause pins & needles. Nothing to worry about - maybe try a few physio exercises just to stop things from worsening

ZippyZappyZoo · 10/02/2024 23:01

You could see a physio rather than GP

No, B12 is not done in full blood count. Many people think a full blood count checks for everything, but it's quite minimal really. It can tell if you're anaemic, but it doesn't check for vitamin levels.

Well that is certainly an issue with me. In fact, today I am shattered after a broken night of sleep and I’ve had tingling in my face and my hip!
