I just wondered if anyone happened to know how long the wait is at the moment for genetic testing for the BRCA gene?
I have a 50/50 chance via my father.
My father died from pancreatic cancer at 71, my half-sister had aggressive breast cancer in her early 40's which she managed to survive but then died from pancreatic cancer in her early 50's. One of my two aunts on my father's side died from breast cancer at 51.
I'm the only one left and rather keen to find out ASAP but have heard the wait could be lengthy?
My referral has been sent to Southampton (not sure if there are significant differences in waiting time according to location)?
