Does anyone know how to read a heart monitor? Caught my weird heart flutters using one…

I’ve been getting weird heartbeats which feel like my heart skips a beat or beats too fast.

I used an app and caught them while they were happening this evening.

does anyone know how to interpret the result? It’s a really scary sensation.

How often do you go to A & E with this?

JanuarysColdandDark · 08/02/2024 23:57

I’ve never been to A&E, I’ve just spoken to my doctor who suggested and ECG but said it would be very difficult to catch it while it was happening.

That doesn't look like an ecg reading, what app did you use and was it measured using a watch?

It does look regular though

You need a monitor that you wear for 24 hours at least. I'm very surprised your GP didn't know that! I did it a few years back and they were caught on that. Mine were some sort of benign palpitation - I can't remember the name. I was under severe stress, anaemic and on too much thyroid medication at the time.

How fast is that , and how does it look when you are not feeling funny?

JanuarysColdandDark · 09/02/2024 00:06

Thanks all, she did say that they could give me a machine to monitor me but that they’d do a normal ECG first. It’s a heart rate monitor app, you put your finger over the camera lens and it measures your Herat rate. Not as good as a proper ECG I’m sure, I just wanted to catch them as they come at random times.

The highlighted one was when the weird beats were happening, the others are just when I felt normal.
