Gallstones crisis

I was diagnosed with gallstones 2 months after giving birth to my first child, im 23 years old and was quite surprised but have taken everything in my stride. When I was a month postpartum I started experiencing extreme mid back pain and ended up being admitted to hospital after a particularly awful attack of pain where I had an ultrasound and was diagnosed with gallstones. I experience pain on the regular but not on the level of an attack. I am still attempting to breastfeed my baby boy exclusively however I have started to loose a significant amount of weight.just after I gave birth I weighed 17.5 stone, I was 18 before pregnancy and that was just 3 months ago and now I am weighing under 14 stone. I really don't want to give up my breastfeeding journey but the rate at which I am loosing weight is so significant I am starting to become slightly worried. If anyone has any advice or similar situations I would thoroughly appreciate the input ❤

Hmm. I don’t have children so can’t speak to the impact of breastfeeding, and am mainly commenting to bump your post, but as a rule unexplained weight loss (losing weight without trying) is something that requires further investigation.

I would book GP appointment immediately and stress the fact you are losing weight without trying.

It did affect my appetite although I didn't know what was wrong... I had symptoms for 3 years on and off before I had emergency surgery as it became infected and was cholecystitis.... I was on a drip in hospital for over a week in the middle of Covid and so ill I could hardly walk into hospital... don't leave it like I did!
