Hi everyone

i had some injections done for pain in my lower back si joint

first set was 2 weeks ago and was low dose and was fairly painfree

this set was on Thursday 1st, was very painful and he used a very strong dose (multiple injections)

i I have some bruising on some areas and they are not painful. I have one area right on the l5 area ( right in my lower back)

this one area is tender to touch and I can feel a lump 5p sized under the skin. There is no redness no hotness and on the surface can’t tell there is any swelling or lump. Only when I touch the area I can feel the tenderness and lump. I am worried of infection or abscess from the injection, as also the other areas he injected are not like this

I have contacted him will be going to see him tomorrow but in the meantime I am concerned and wanted to know everyone’s experiences with injections as if never really had any in the past!

Hi how did you get on afterwards?

Hi it’s gone smaller today, I have noticed I have had that area swell up in the past, I went back to the clinic and he did ultrasound he said doesn’t look infected or an abscess just looks like it’s scar tissue or something like that no fluid inside it. I think when he numbed the area he injected in that small cyst or whatever it was and it puffed up. Less painful today and a lot smaller too, have you had something similar ?

the other injection areas are sore a little too and hard 1 week later

I have pain in that area, for a long while plus sciatica. I'm trying lots of different things (acupuncture, physio etc) but nothing seems to work so I'm wondering if they may recommend injections next... do you feel it's working?
