Low body temperature & heart rate

My brain is running slowly today and I’ve been struggling to focus my eyes on my screen. I took my temperature and it registered as under 34 on my forehead thermometer. My heart rate is currently around 55. I have tested my thermometer and odometer on my husband and they are reading as normal with him.
I’ve been well up until now. I’m sitting with a heat pad on, trying to warm up. Is there anything else I can do?

Maybe give your GP a ring?
Or book into the optician as a first port of call if the vision doesn’t improve? They have same day emergency appointments that they see you for now instead of GP as they are the experts. They can refer on/treat things as needed.

Or you can do private at home blood tests for things like thyroid if it’s quicker than booking I I GP and you have the funds.

My GP isn’t really the ‘give us a ring’ type. I might just log out and go to bed for an hour. See if that helps.
Private bloods seem a good idea - will investigate that!

Companies like medichecks come in under £100 and are finger prick for alot of them.
But if your vision doesn’t improve then don’t mess around and phone your local opticians and ask about the urgent scheme. It’s usually several in a town that do it. Obviously if your vision continues to get worse or any other not right things then you’d need to go to A&E

Thanks @Whoopaday That’s very reassuring.

Forehead thermometers are not always the most reliable and a HR of 55 is not that low for someone relatively fit.

BUT if you are sure the thermometer is correct (several readings in a row) and you have evidence that that is a low heart rate for you and you are feeling unusually unwell in a few hours I’d consider calling 111.

Get your thyroid checked!
