Quitting birth control pills

Anyone came off birth control pills after many years? How was it for you? So basically I’ve been on the pill (microganon) 19 years and i really think it is to blame for my low moods and severe hair loss. My hair falls out in handfuls daily, it grows back but will then fall out agin it’s getting me really down as is so thin. I am worried though that stopping the pill now may make everything worse? Those who gave up did you stay off it? If so what birth control method worked best for you?

I switched from combined pill to Mirena after 15 years. I think PMT got better, although it's hard to know if that was just growing out of it! I went in the mini pill after DC1 & it very much affected my mood for the worse so maybe not. There's nothing to stop you going back on it if you find your symptoms worse. I have a Mirena again now for contraception & HRT, can't fault it.

@ffscatmove thank you I did look at the mirena but if I am honest it freaked me out a little the thought of having it in there and getting it in and out was too much for me
