Breast pain

I have had breast pain in left breast for probably around 8 months, it used to be every couple of weeks, now it is constant of it is touched or brushed across, it is in once spot. I've had a feel and can't feel any lumps.

I also suffer with health anxiety so I don't know if I am being over the top to go to the doctors as I feel like when they see my name it's like "oh her again" so I really want to avoid the GP.

Worth noting, I do have costrocondritis, inflammation of the chest, rib cage and wonder if that part of the pain.

Could be, it you need to get it checked.
i used to have cyclical breast pain, so took a good quality evening primrose oil, and it got rid of it.

@DustyLee123 was that in one breast or both. I'll ring the GP tomorrow

Please get it checked, I ignored pain and a lump to my detriment.

DustyLee123 · 04/02/2024 16:13

just one.

nothingnothing77 · 04/02/2024 16:29

I will definetely get it checked tomorrow. I'm just feeling really scared and panicky about it all of a sudden as I've had it for a long time

Get it checked. Drs told me pain was not a symptom of anything bad. They were wrong.

DistinguishedSocialCommenator · 04/02/2024 16:42

OP

You must get it checked. Having stated that, more often than not its nothing but please get it checked.

nothingnothing77 · 04/02/2024 16:45

It feels sore to touch and kind of heavy but I don't know if the heavy is because I've been feeling and prodding

Get checked for peace of mind. I had unilateral breast pain for months (and had also skipped 2 mammos). Exam & mammo all normal and the pain went. It’s likely nothing bad, but best to make sure.

Depending on where in the country you are there will have a breast pain clinic your GP can refer you to if needed. It's very rare for breast pain to be cancer so try not to worry about that. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34990395/

I recently had exploratory mammogram for chronic breast pain. I'm a possible BRCA2 carrier (genetic test next month) so thought it prudent. Turned out all fine but glad I checked.
