a year ago I gave birth to my baby daughter and since then I’ve had on and off issues when needing to go toilet (sorry if TMI!!) in April last year it was getting so painful and I would have bright red blood in my stools and toilet tissue, I also felt a lump in and just outside anus. I went to doctor who said it wil piles and gave me a cream which seemed to help for a while. Then came November and it started happening again but really bad. I went to the doctor and was given suppositories that seemed to help but only had a 6 day prescription and then it got worse after. Everyday when I go it is so so painful. I’m now worried it could be something else as it’s been months and online it say’s haemorrhoids only last a few days!! It’s the weekend so I can’t contact doctor until Monday but has anyone else had this before for this long?

Are you sure it’s not a fissure? They can be extremely painful, and if unresolved can definitely last for months.

Do you suffer from constipation at all? I find I can go for months with no problem but as soon as I become even slightly constipated they return. Mine appeared in pregnancy.

I am so careful not to get constipated - if I miss even one day of pooing, I risk a pile flare-up. I eat lots of green veg and fruit and drink lots of water. I keep these on hand at home too. I don't often use them but they are excellent.
