Mammogram recall

A dear relative in her late 50s has been recalled following a routine mammogram that wasn't her first. She has a breast clinic appointment arranged. I've read all the figures and probabilities etc but looking for real life positive stores of when it turned out to be nothing of concern.

I was recalled after my first & it was calcification. Went all the way to biopsy.

I was recalled after my 4th, turned out to be nothing.

I was recalled after my third - turned out to be a cyst, which was dealt with on the spot. The clinic was excellent, very kind staff.

I've only had two and been recalled both times.

First time was because they had nothing to compare the images to so I had further mammograms to check all was ok. Second time turned out to be a cyst which was drained straightaway.

It may be something but if it is hopefully it has been found at an early stage.
I needed a lumpectomy and radiotherapy but not mastectomy or chemotherapy

I was recalled on my 4th mammogram, a cyst was found, no treatment needed. Good luck to your relative x

Just an update for anyone who might stumble across this thread who is going through similar. She has had her appointment and is all clear!

Had several mammograms, mri and biopsies. I have cysts, very common as you get older. They keep an eye on me but the general view is it’s my age.

Great result! Thank you for the update.
