Dermatitis - tips for sore skin?

I have allergic contact dermatitis and I'm having a flare. My fingertips are cracking and peeling, and the skin on my hands is starting to tingle and hurt. I'm using the topical steroid. The instructions say "As directed", but I haven't had to use them regularly for over a year, and I cannot remember how many times a day I can apply the steroid. Would the consultant have said anything different to what is on the NHS website? (They have been telling me for years to take up to 4 one-a-day antihistamines/day.)

I'll slather my hands with moisturiser tonight and go to bed wearing cotton gloves. Hate doing that, but hopefully it will help.

Any tips on other things I can do to help? I am unable to avoid my triggers.
