Wrote here a week ago, about being worried about possible phlebitis. My symptoms got worse, so I've actually seen a doctor, who thoroughly examined my leg. No signs of phlebitis. He said he didn't know why the nurse come up with that! What I've actually done is pulled the ligaments in my knee.
Been told to rest, ice, elevate and to do gentle stretches.

I've no idea how long it'll Take to recover...so I thought I'd ask here for your experiences.
It's an mcl rather than acl

So any tips for recovery? Time frames or stretches I can do?

Yes - I did this, falling over the cat on the stairs (!) several years ago. The A&E doctor told me that it would take far longer to heal than a fracture, and he was right. Patience needed I'm afraid....

Whyhere - oh gosh, that doesn't sound great! How long did your recovery take then?

To regain mobility, about six weeks. To lose the pain, more like six months!

Oh great! Getting really frustrated with this. Been putting ice on it, but wondering if deep heat would help more. I mean the doctor said to rest, ice and elevate. Then before we left, he said get some deep heat on it. Got some painkillers to take, so hopefully they'll kick in quickly!

Injured a ligament in my toe during lockdown and, due to not being able to access care and advice because all the hospitals were on a war footing, it became a chronic problem that eventually needed surgery to correct. My advice is get specialist guidance and follow it to the absolute letter. Ligament injuries can heal fine on their own, but only if proper instructions on care are followed.
