I have IBS and it a private intolerance tests it’s definitely got better but it’s not perfect.

I also have frequent vomiting/ nausea episodes, and my skin is itchy.

Allergy clinic aren’t bothered around food allergies unless it’s life threatening (been told to call them back if i ever have to go to a&e)

Not sure what else I can do? Any private tests I can do?

IBS type symptoms are much more likely to be intolerance than allergy.

Intolerance tests don't work.

Have you been tested for coeliac disease?

An exclusion diet is the best way to find out the cause, you could perhaps look at the FODMAP diet.

If you can afford to go private, a dietician will be far more useful than any tests.

If your ibs diagnosis is on your medical record - you can ask 4 a dietician on the nhs.

IBS = a dietary condition..

The guts charity are good to talk to

Re itchy - have you had your liver checked?

Yes been tested for coeliac and it’s negative.

I have done FODMAP and elimination diets which makes me think it’s more than one thing affecting me.

While intolerance tests don’t work I do find if I eat the things that came back my ibs is worse. I was desperate to try anything

I have spoken to a dietitian but I find it not very helpful as it’s always eat more veg and fruit.

I have had my liver checked in the past and once it came back high but they monitored it and it came back down so they were happy. And no follow ups.

Gut charity is a good suggestion!

Any private gut tests….ive seen a few for poop samples? Are these any good?

What intolerance tests were done? What method was used?

Did you do FODMAP alone with Internet lists or with a dietician to properly advise, monitor and support? That should have identified what you need to cut out your diet as you should have seen rapid changes there. You should only be reintroducing one new food per week, so it will be very clear and very quick if it were a problem.

For me it's wheat, yeast, peas and peanuts that cause me the most IBS distress. So if I eat bread, that's on me. Seeded wholemeal bread is also exponentially worse than white bread in my IBS response.

Have you considered other issues than food as the cause of vomiting and nausea? Migraine, chemicals you work with, POTS, inner ear imbalances - lots of other possibilities.

With skin reactions, could it be washing powder or another chemical? I get a lot of skin reactions to chemicals!

Intolerance test was blood but IGG not IGE so I know it’s not got the best science back up.

FODMAP I did with an app but there was no support from a dietitian. I know dairy and bread definitely sets its off.

I have considered POTs in the past but I do know my sickness gets worse with things I eat for sure. I have always been very sicky 😢
