I have occasionally suffered with clicking in my neck, sometime so loud that others can hear (but only if I mention it to them ). Recently though my neck/upper back started to be painful if I try to sleep on my front with my right cheek on the pillow. Now my neck clicks all day long , sometimes once per head turn and sometimes - like now - as if I am popping bubble wrap! Anyone know what is wrong with me. I am getting paranoid that I have broken my neck ages ago and it has gone undiagnosed but having never had a trauma to the neck this would be unlikely . Your advice ladies please .

Erm, why do you sleep on your front with your cheek on the pillow. sounds jolly uncomfortable.

My neck has recently started clicking too though. DH can hear it.

It was suggested here that it's air in the joints, but it's hard to believe. Hold on, will find the thread...

here you go

LOL at bubble wrap. That's exactly how it sounds, though I do find it hard to believe that it's air.

spoke to a friend today and she validate the air in the joints theory. Recommended i go to see a chiropracter. No more bubble wrap joints for me!

I have scoliosis & this happens to me too!

My vertebrae all stack too tight on top of each other causing tightness & if I turn quick or move we hear them clicking.

My left shoulder blad aches all the time too but if anyone tries to rub it, it hurts like a knitting needle is being stuck into it
