Stopping vaping/pnemonia??

Hi all

This is my first post on mums net so hopefully will be able to get some advice.

I have currently been vaping for 2 years. I go through a disposable elf bar a day. It is literally never out of my hands.

so since last sat I have been diagnosed by x ray and bloods of community pneumonia.

this has gave me a massive push to stop vaping which I really want to do I’m wondering if anyone has any tips or anything to help me along the way or if anyone else is thinking about quitting that wants to join me?

I am absolutely floored off the pneumonia and currently still on antibiotics ( day 6 doxycycline) so really don’t want to vape at the moment but can’t stop but then also scared if I stop vaping now that it will make me more ill with the side effects of both!!

any advice please ???

Why on earth would you start vaping when you have never smoked, seems bizarre to me. But yes, you need to stop now, and it is possible to do with the right amount of willpower!

My friend at work did this;

  • bought a refillable vape
  • bought elf bar liquid 10mg
  • bought 0mg liquid

Started off on 10mg for 2 weeks
Had 2 weeks on 0mg
Fully quit

You will struggle to just get rid of it, you need to reduce it first. The final two weeks she had the vape with no nicotine to stop the physically habit as the nicotine was out of her system by then but the hand the mouth habit needed to end.

Hope this helps, you can do it 🤞🏼

Just go cold Turkey. Nicotine withdrawal is mild in the grand scheme of addictions. I say this as someone that has stopped vaping the same amount as you. The worse part is the habit. After 3 days you are most of the way there. You can do it!

Agreed. It's not the nicotine. It's basically a dummy you suck on and hold for reassurance. Gum and a fiddle ring or fidget.

Also, refer to it as a douche flute. So you know how silly it is to let it have power over you.
