Just got to bed and laid down and suddenly I've got this high pitched weird ringing.in m right ear. Very annoying and just weird. What on earth is it? I'm.staryimg.tonlaniv and after a quick Google all sorts of things are coming up and now im terrified. For reference I have had a stinking cold all week and today I've been so chesty and coughing lots. Could this be contributing? Can I assume it will just go away? Too scared to go to sleep and not sure if I should seek some advice. I also have a terrible headache but maybe this is just from my cold?

How old are you? I have tinnitus and it started all of a sudden.

More than likely from your cold - If it continues see the dr

Will it be okay for tonight? Google's told me.kts an aneurysm or a stroke or something terrible..making out like I won't make it until the morning!

I'm sure you made it to the morning so now know that it wasn't serious! (I'm gently teasing - sorry you were worried.) Ear noise in a young person without other symptoms is highly unlikely to be anything to worry about - your ears are probably being affected by your cold, so it should just wear off.

A side effect of covid (or, in my case, the vaccine - I'm still very pro though) is tinnitus; again, annoying, but not harmful.
