Glucose in urine

Is it normal to have some glucose in urine after meals? Not there all the time but is a couple hours after meals - early 30s, bmi about 20, have been unwell since covid a couple of months ago and still struggling with the tiredness, nausea, tachycardia and a few other things

From what my doctor has said, glucose reaching the urine is concerning. I'd get it checked out.

How do you know?

How do you know?

I'm assuming they have some urine dipsticks. OP?

Smurf123 · 21/01/2024 21:52

@olderbutwiser random but I have some dipsticks as my dd has had some been having some issues with protein in hers gp said to keep an eye on it over the weekend. Sounds stupid but I was struggling to tell the differences in the green for protein so thought in my wisdom I'll compare to mine since it'll be normal (well my protein was fine was just shocked by the glucose)

@ComingHomeAgain yes to dipsticks
I'll try and talk to gp tomorrow.. Feel like a hypochondriac with the amount of symptoms that have had me there recently dint really want to bother them if it is normal for it to happen after meals or whatever.

Honestly OP it's always better to be safe than sorry with things like this - they'd far rather you were seen for something that turned out to be nothing than not seen for something that needed to be seen and wasn't. I had glucose in my urine and it sparked additional tests because of concerns that stemmed from that. Definitely speak to your GP or midwife asap. Good luck Flowers
