Permanent sore throat? Anyone help?

I have had this awful flu/winter virus, started just before Christmas and was properly properly poorly.
Now I'm over the worst of it but still have agonising sore throat and ear ache and deafness. GP has looked, says no sign of infection, no blocked ears etc, referred me for a hearing test in case nerve has been permanently damaged.
Has anyone had similar then been fine? Surely I can't have earache and a sore throat forever? But there's no improvement 4 weeks on :(

My sister had a ear drum infection 3 weeks ago she went to e&t and they given her antibiotics and said her hearing will Be better but it's still not... They said the same to her and now she's waiting for another app with the e&t ...

My sore throat has improved a lot but I still have hearing loss in one ear. I'm also experiencing daily headaches, sinus pain and complete exhaustion. Even walking to the kitchen feels a challenge. Never have I felt so ill with a virus

Hi , I can relate to this , My family & I all had a viral infection over Xmas , my dd was so bad I took her to the Dr he said it was viral & would get better which she did .
However last Sunday I felt unwell again sore throat , head cold & exhaustion, I feel like I can’t swallow sorry for tmi but the back of my throat has phlegm, last night when I laid on my right side fluid was coming out of my right ear it was also popping .

This virus seems to be going around but if I’m like this on Monday I’m booking a Dr’s appointment.

I’m only two weeks into the virus and mostly back to normal (but still exhausted ) but am so fed up of not being able to shift my sore throat. I usually get a sore throat for a day or two max at the beginning of a cold, but this time it’s just not going away.

No practical advice except to take it is easy as possible, but many commiserations. It will go eventually.

It's absolutely no better than it was on day one!
Hoping it goes back to normal and my hearing comes back ASAP
