Ruptured Ectopic Pregnancy - worried

Yesterday I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. The HCG levels were only 150 but the mass itself was big 4cm. I’m not quite sure how this could be? Everything I read about HCG in ectopics says it would be high. Does anyone know why this would be?
I am also worried that they say I have to come back to hospital to check the HCG is falling. But why? What does it mean if it doesn’t?

I have worked myself into an anxiety spiral and wished I had asked these questions at the time. I didn’t because I was just grateful to still be here.

Sorry OP, how stressful. I hope you are looking after yourself.
I believe that they will be monitoring your HCG levels to see if they naturally decline so that you do not need any further intervention.

If you are not clear please call and ask to speak to someone - maybe someone at the EPU will
be able to help?

They will just be checking that the HCG is reducing as it should be. I would think they are just looking after you.

when you go back to the hospital, make a list of what you want to ask.

I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, and my hcg did not present on urine tests but it did on blood tests.
