son fell over and split a mole open - need go docs?

He is 13, and always had this very large mole on his back. Mucking about last night it got knocked, sort of split open, and bled a lot. A neighbour who is a nurse said it was okay and put a plaster on it. This morning it has lost it's black colour and gone white ish, and stopped bleeding. It is now mis shapen, and obviously has loose skin. Should i just let it heal and see if it falls off, or get it checked now. It's not bothereing him. Thanks

I think I'd get it checked, just to be sure.

No need to go to docs unless it is still bleeding.

Leave it alone. Keep covered with a plaster for a few days. The loose skin will probably die and fall off eventually. Expect the skin of the mole to be more pale where it has been caught when it evetually heals- this is normal.

Thanks, doesn't look too bad now. Caught it again earlier, so covered it again with plaster. Has plumped up and coloured up again, but not hurting him.
