Ds and a strange lumpy rash

Been to the GP about this and he said it was ezcema (sp?) and prescribed 1% hydrocortisone cream, but it seems to be making it more red and isn't helping.

It is quite bad around his wrists, on his knees, a few smaller spots on his belly, and where his nappy sits on his leg, it is a raised lumpy rash, does this sound like ezcema? i haven't changed washing powder or anything like that, so it is a bit of a mystery really.

it sounds as tho it is in the right place for typical ezcema, and raised bumps also seem typical to me, as that was how my DC's presented when they were smaller and suffereing from ezcema, but I can;t remember how long it took for creams to start helping, or even if they did. for mine, milk seemed to be the problem and removing it from their diets was the only time any improvement was completely obvious.
