I've always been a shake person from my early 20s I put it down to my anxiety which I have been on medication for for over 5 years now, gradually as I've got older the shakes have got worse to the point where some days I can't even lift a drink to my mouth without shaking. Its starting to really get me down because my muscles ache after a bad spout of it and I find it difficult moving around sometimes.
I'm 31 now and have read that I'm to young to have any conditions such as MS and parkinsons however both run very strong on both my parents side of the family.
I am hugging to book an appointment but I feel like they are going to put it down to my mental health.
I was wondering if anyone has any advice or suffered anything similar? I find the next day after having alchol the shakes are uncontrollable I am not a regular drinker but when I do I know that this will be the case the next day.

I went to the GP about my tremor aged about 25-26. They said it’s probably essential tremor but sent me for tests. I had blood tests, brain scans and a neurologist appointment.

I was really anxious during the initial GP appointment and she definitely thought it was that, but I explained I had it all the time, even when resting/not worried/just woken up etc and that when I’m anxious it just makes it worse. I got diagnosed with essential tremor after all the tests anyway. If you’ve got a family history of MS/Parkinson’s I’d let them know about that too.

I got told it could be a while range of things, from vitamin deficiencies, to something more worrying so that’s why they wanted to get it checked. Fingers crossed fry or answers for you!
