I got this perscribed when pg with dd2 but mw said not to use pessary only the cream. the only benefit of the cream in this pack is that it is stronger than normal canestan so it works alot quicker.

Hello,

i got this prescribed by the doctor when i was about 37 weeks myself. I double checked with the chemist, and he said it was okay to use if the doctor said so, just don't insert the pessary too far inside.

Hope this helps

What bizzarre advice!

Pessary and cream are both safe to use in pregnancy. However, canesten capsules aren't suitable if pregnant.

I was prescribed this at 38 weeks and told it was fine, but not to insert pessary too far
