...because I think I might be and I think ds might be too. Has anyone experienced this?

Sugar is certainly my drug of choice and I crave carbs like a good un. I have managed over the last few year though, to decrease my consumption hugely - I'm down to a half teaspoon of sugar in tea and now if someone does me a full teaspoon it tastes revolting. I reduce it by the most pathetic number of grains every few weeks and it has def worked and also made me less desperate for other sugary things. I think a love of sugar def affects your metabolism too - the only diet I have ever done (I don't diet a lot really but every now and then need to shift some flab) which worked like a dream was Atkins. I am not recommending it as a long term solution, but it is a way to break you of carbs for a short time, just to get your tastebuds back on track. After 10 days of Atkins, an apple tastes like the sweetest most amazing thing on earth.

Thanks both - that's interesting that "cold turkey" really seems the way to go. Hmmm - OK for me but can see ds putting up some resistance!
