Anxiety about seeing gp

Just looking for a bit of support really. Managed to get a gp appointment for today as I keep having chest pains when I’m anxious. Ironically the gp appointment has made me really anxious (it’s in an hour) although thankfully I haven’t had a flair up with my pain.
I have OCD and health anxiety and I’m convincing myself it’s a worst case scenario and I’m about to be told I have heart failure or something.
usually going to the drs doesn’t make me anxious but is doing this time round. I just feel really really scared about it probably because chest pains can be serious and it’s my first time at this gp

Just to send you a hand hold - hope all is ok. It will soon be over and talking about your anxieties will hopefully make you feel a bit better. I'm guessing gp will prescribe meds and refer to counselling, possibly bloods to rule out any illnesses. Hope it goes ok

Hand hold, you're not alone, this was exactly me during the summer last year, I had a face to face appointment followed by another appointment for a blood test and the anxiety these appointments caused me was untold, I had to walk out of the waiting room I was having a panic attack, convinced they'd tell me I was dying. Can you tell I also have health anxiety and OCD and a few other mental health conditions thrown on top for sprinkles?
The appointment will be over before you know it and you'll be back home hopefully having a cup of tea ☕
