Positive fit test and referred to colonoscopy positive stories please

I have had a dull ache in my vagina (left side) since my misscarriage Jan 2022. I have since had my third child. The full ache has never gone. Sometimes worse after a busy day. I have had ultrasounds on stomach and also transvaginal and nothing found.

recently the dull ache has spread to my bottom leaving a feeling of never being empty and slight numbness. I did a fit test which can back positive (51) and bloods which are all normal and dr has referred me for colonoscopy this week. I also have stomach pain on and off for the last month, a feeling of first trimester pregnancy but IM NOT PREGNANT.

im very worried I have bowel cancer and perhaps I’ve had it since 2022 but just put it down to misscarriage and pregnancy.. Has anyone had similar symptoms and been okay? I’m super stressed and wondering if anyone has had similar fit test results/symptoms and been okay. Dr suggested it’s a pesky polyp or piles?

Also to add I had mri of spine and pelvis and all normal (due to numb bottom). Surely anything major would show up on there?

Hi, didn't want to read and run when I know how anxiety inducing these things can be. 51 is obviously slightly higher than you'd want but it isn't really high. I've recently had a colonoscopy with no sedation or painkillers and was absolutely fine. They found nothing (despite a positive fit test and low iron).

The chances of it being anything very serious are very small. But I know how anxious I was. I hope you can find some reassurance

Also, for the screening fit test I think the cut off is 80. Obviously you have some symptoms which means they have a lower threshold but hopefully that helps

Thanks so much for your reply! Did you have any other symptoms? And can you recall your fit test result? I’m wondering if it’s more endometriosis related rather than cancer related! But the constant dull ache is a constant reminder something isn’t right!

Great to know you did it without sedation! I’m planning on doing the same as I’m breastfeeding and need to drive back asap to get back to baby! X

My aunt had a positive fit test, her colonoscopy just showed benign polyps which they removed. Its likely yours will be the same!

Also yes I'd assume a pelvic MRI would pick up if there was a tumour or something. I'm sure you'll be fine.

I recently had a colonoscopy due to a FIT test result of 25. Bloods had come back ok, I had been to the doctor due to loose stools. I was so so worried but the colonoscopy literally showed nothing. Not even a polyp. So try not to worry too much as 51 isn’t that high in terms of anything serious.

I had a positive qfit
I had an urgent colonoscopy
I had bowel polyps

( the qfits of 10 and over are positive)

Thank you for your help! I had colonoscopy today! No sedation, it was quite full on tbh. But all clear absolutely no issues at all! I had really stressed myself out over this! It’s ruined my Christmas but my fit test was positive so I did the right thing!
